Hello, my name is Jessica Brown!
I am a 16 year old girl and a junior in high school. I am a firearms enthusiast, have written articles for Junior Shooters Magazine and shoot competitively out of Boise, ID.
Family values, traditions and moral standards have always been an important part of my life and upbringing. I have been taught since I was young about respect for myself and others. I have been involved in church my whole life and currently run the sound system for our church. I have certain principles and convictions that I will not compromise with, such as my faith, family, country and my integrity and honor.Shooting is my passion but when I’m not competing I love spending time with my family and close friends and helping people in any way I can. I like to volunteer at a local rehabilitation center my aunt works at, helping injured and ill people back to health. I have been speaking with a local chapter of the Well-Armed Woman and am looking forward to working with them. Every year my family shoots a local event called Shoot for a Cure. It is a fundraiser for breast cancer awareness; an event that hits home for me as my grandmother had breast cancer. I also help at Forward Movement Training Center, a local facility which trains law enforcement, military and civilians in many different areas from basic self-defense to executive protection and advanced weapons tactics. They’ve used me to help train people in things such as safe gun handling, low light scenarios like room clearing and mock robberies, force on force (active shooter) and trauma medical attention. It doesn’t exactly relate to my competitive shooting but I love the people and being able to help out this local business.
I have a great sense of humor, I am outgoing and always willing to meet new people and make new friends. I see myself in the medical field once I have finished high school, making a difference and positively changing lives. I hope to be an EMT or maybe a combat medic someday. I think desk jobs would bore me quickly simply because I love the adrenaline rush and excitement I get from being in the action. I shoot competitively, but my love for the 2nd amendment, the firearms industry and all things shooting goes deeper than 3-gun and competition. I have a passion for educating and empowering women and junior ladies about the 2nd amendment, safe gun handling and lending what knowledge I have of the shooting world. I enjoy building, shooting, and generally show off my firearms to anyone willing to give me some of their time. I like the outdoors and enjoy hunting, hiking, camping and four-wheeling. I could spend hours fondling and even doing the simple task of cleaning my guns. With dedication, hard work and a positive attitude I hope to go far and achieve great things. Please feel free to follow my shooting career on Instagram (shootlikeagirl1) and Facebook (Jessica Brown – Junior Shooter). I’ll see you on the range!
